The Big Brush

THE BIG BRUSH

│PERFORMANCE│VIDEOINSTALLATION

About intimacy, privacy & being exposed.

The (1 min) short film is a response to the cover of plica magazine # 3: a photograph of Mary Ellen Mark from 1974.

The audio/visual piece takes a similar perspective as the image, by exposing an act of daily life in the public sphere, but this time saturating the act till the grotesque side of it.

A young man brushing his teeth on a podium in a museum/gallery. Exhibit of the normal, a secret of something private exposed to the public.

Performance based on “The Big Shave”

The Big Shave is a 1967 six-minute short film directed by Martin Scorsese
